Nu am cuvinte sa multumesc acestui medic Profesionist , amabil, empati, a expilcat pe intelesul meu sitatia mea medicala si ce urmeaza sa se intimple. Si mai ales m- a intrebat ,, Cum ma simt ? " 9 ani nu mi- a pus nimeni aceasta intrebare . Am remarcat eleganta si discretia pe care a abordat-o cind a fost vorba despre istoricul bolii mele. I will give this review in English so everyone realizes this is a health facility of high quality with outstanding medical staff and potential. I compared it with Ottawa General Hospital in Canada and a similar clinical facility for thyroid in Vienna. Dr. Ionut Sandu a brilliant surgeon, capable of procedures that other endocrine surgeons wouldn't even attempt. He is also kind, caring and empathetic and will take the time to answer all your questions until he knows you have no doubts. His "bedside manner" is one you wish all doctors in Romania would have. In addition to all of his wonderful qualities and skills as a surgeon, the man has no trace of arrogance and looks at your case for many angles and consults with colleagues in the field to be sure best decision is taken. His team is very professional as well. My anesthesiologist, dr. Soare was amazing. I had a full thyroidectomy and lymphadenectomy, a 90 minutes surgery. My general anesthesia went very well and my recovery was smooth and speedy because also of the outstanding team took care of me post-operation. I want to praise the nurse Mrs. Carmen who took care of me and other 2 patients I shared the room the first night after our surgery: amazing care, dedication and professionalism. I literally felt so well taken care of Dr. Sandu and his team. Thanks also to his assistant Miss Ana Ionica, and Mrs. Camelia and Oana at Admissions Desk who made the entire process pleasant and less of a burden. A thyroid surgery needs super- specialization and a lot of cases and complications to be seen before yours is performed successfully. I would recommend anyone to do a lot a research first before choosing the surgeon. Don't rush. The complications attached to such a surgery are mostly hoarseness of the voice ( I didn't have even a temporary one) and damage of the parathyroid glands. I am so grateful to Dr. Sandu and his entire team at Gral! Keep up the good work! I wish some research can be linked to Gral and the Thyroid Center clinical work.

I recently had a full thyroidectomy and partial lymphadenectomy at Gral Medical Center. Dr. Ionut Sandu is a brilliant surgeon, capable of procedures that other endocrine surgeons wouldn't even attempt. He is also kind, caring and empathetic and will take the time to answer all your questions until he knows you have no doubts. His "bedside manner" is one you wish all doctors would have. In addition to all of his wonderful qualities and skills as a surgeon, he has no trace of arrogance and would consult with colleagues in the field in order to make best decision on your case. His team is amazing -from anesthesiologists to the nurses in the Operatory Block to the ones taking care of you post-surgery: Dr. Soare ( anesthesiologist, Mrs. Carmen - nurse who took care of us in such a professional and human way the night after surgery, Mrs Otilia housekeeping has been so kind and professional. Mrs Claudia and Oana at Inpatient Admission Desk as well as Miss Ana Ionita who takes care of the schedule - all have been incredibly good! I just want to say that the entire medical act at Gral Medical center is comparable to the Ottawa General Hospital in Canada or the Lund University Hospital in Sweden. The thyroid surgery is a very specialized one with complications such temporary or permanent hoarseness or loss of voice or damage to parathyroid glands. Not even temporary hoarseness happened to me and my recovery has been speedy perhaps because of the surgery technique the doctor used. Hence, I advised anyone going into thyroid surgery to do some research and taking time in choosing specialized surgeon because thyroid is a peculiar organ that needs a surgeon who can manage a situation at the site that looks a bit different than what information the ultrasound imagining provided prior to the surgery. The best thyroid surgery is the first one and make sure you only have one. I am very grateful to dr. Sandu and his team for the wonderful care.
